Time to plan the fun stuff!!!  Have fun in Cozumel!

fun

Guests ask us what they should do when they arrive. These are our suggestions.

The Cozumel Dune Buggy Tour is a good way to get to quickly know the island, where everything is, and circle the available coastline. It requires lots of sunscreen since I recommend this tour at the beginning of your stay. If you visit Cozumel for just one day, then this is the tour we recommend to get to know the island in one day.

The city's original name was Zama, or "place of dawn" due to the unforgettable sunrises of the eastern horizon. The city of Tulum was re-occupied by the Maya for several decades after the conquest, from 1890-1910 by a sect of the "Talking Cross Maya" who held rituals in the "Castillo" Temple. Our adventure will start as follows:

  1. Meeting point: Once I have your information, I will provide you with an exact location (very close to where you disembarked) that we will meet. I will provide you my cell phone number incase a change is needed.
  2. After introduction, and review of our days agenda, we will start our sightseeing around town. We will visit the commercial area (turistic) as well to the area where the locals live. Experience the real flavor of Cozumel in these streets.
  3. I would like to suggest a visit to our Island Museum. The Museum is an excellent starting point to familiarize yourself with the "lay of the land". You will learn (via the museum's displaces) about the rich history of Mexico, and specifically about Cozumel. You will find the answers to questions about the Maya, and why Cozumel was so important to them.
  4. Another interesting stop may be the tortilla factory.
  5. A MUST SEE, and DO is a visit to San Gervasio Maya ruins. Here we take a guided tour( with a local guide) who will explain what really happened on this active discovery site. The site is still under excavation by archeologists and new discoveries are being made daily. This is the largest, and one of the most influential sites in Maya history on the island.
  6. If you would like to drive to the east side of the island, a stop at famous Coconuts Restaurant for some relaxation, and enjoy lunch. Coconuts has some of the best Mexican food served with the best view of the island, and the ocean.
  7. As we make our journey from the east side of the island to the west, we can stop for some great snorkeling (weather and schedule permitting), and perhaps some libations!
  8. Return to your pick-up locations.

cpl

I hope I have provided you with some ideas of what options are available to you during your visit to Cozumel.
