Golf in Cozumel

The Cozumel Country Club is now ready for golfers wishing to give this new course a try. It is beautifully landscaped with lush tropical palms and natural indigenous vegetation. It is located at the north end of the island across the street from Villas Mar y Sol (including Villa Delfin, Villa Sirena, Villa Ballena, Villa Caracoles, and Villa Corales).

This is a premier golf club by the Nicklaus Design Group that incorporates the natural terrain to create exciting challenges. Greens fee for 18 holes (par 72) is $115 USD (as of November 2001) and includes use of a cart. The course offers many services to make your game more enjoyable, including club rental, pro shop, mobile bar, and a snack bar.

Here are a few things to remember:

1. The golf course is irrigated with non-potable water. Reclaimed water is used for irrigation, please be aware that the water should be contacted as little as possible. Use a towel to wipe your golf ball and avoid retrieving balls from the irrigation lake on the 14th and 15th holes.
2. Crocodilians are found in most of the water features on the golf course. While they generally will avoid contact with you, it is best if you avoid contact with them. Please be aware of this when approaching any water feature.
3. The gold course is marked with posts in the fairways to indicate yardage. The par-four holes have a post in the fairway 150 yards from the center of the green. The par-five holes have a 150-yard post as well as a 250-yard post in the fairway. These posts are also good aiming targets off the tee. All tee boxes have in ground markers indicating hole yardage.
4. Carts may be driven to your ball in the fairway and then returned to the cart path. Please keep carts on paths on all par-three holes and 75 yards from the green on all other holes.
